A bowfishing enthusiast recently broke the Kansas state record smallmouth buffalo by catching a huge 64.75 fish.

Topeka resident Thayne Miller was bowfishing in Clinton Reservoir when he nabbed the huge fish.

The previous Kansas state record smallmouth buffalo was 51 pounds and has stood since 1979.

Miller beat the previous record by an impressive 13 pounds.

The fish was weighed on a certified scale and met the other requirements to be certified as the new record.
