Biancardi caught the huge fish in the Po River, the longest river in Italy.
The angler is a pro staff for Madcat Fishing, and used a Madcat rod, line and jighead to entice the monster cat.
He was using a Savage Gear shad lure on this particular fishing trip.
10 witnesses observed the official measurement that showed a likely world record. It will take some time to certify the measurement.
Alessandro let the big fish go after measurements were taken.
